Job software you own.
Quotes, jobs, certificates, and CIS and VAT invoices for heating, plumbing and electrical firms. No per-user fees: £99 a month however many engineers you hire.
Most job software is priced for the supplier, not for you.
-
Your headcount goes up. So does your software bill.
Every engineer you hire adds to the monthly bill. At 15 staff on a £44-per-user plan, that's £7,920 a year.
-
Certificate renewals live in a spreadsheet.
Someone has to remember which gas safety and electrical certificates are due, and chase every renewal by hand.
-
You work around the software, not with it.
It was designed for a different kind of firm, so the real work ends up in notebooks and side lists next to it.
Cheaper in month one. More expensive from month 17. And it's never yours.
A 15-person firm on the full-feature plan of a leading UK trades platform, at £44 per user per month, against devHatch from £9,500 plus £99/month.
| Per-user platform | devHatch | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly cost | £660 | £99 |
| Month 12 | £7,920 | £10,688 |
| Month 17 | £11,220 | £11,183 |
| Month 24 | £15,840 | £11,876 |
| Month 60 | £39,600 | £15,440 |
If it's cheaper in month one, why not just try it? By month 17 you've paid more than devHatch costs. By year five it's £39,600, and the software stops the day you stop paying.
Under 12 staff, a per-user plan stays cheaper for more than two years. (The maths above assumes 15.) If that's you, buy this because you want software that fits how you work and code you own, not because it's cheaper. I'll tell you which side you're on when we talk.
Competitor price is the published UK per-user price excluding VAT, checked October 2026. devHatch is shown at its £9,500 starting price; added features raise the build cost and move the crossover later.

The devHatch Job System
From £9,500
The core system, set up as your own copy. Your data. Your code.
Need more than the core system? Extra features are quoted as a fixed price and agreed in writing before any work starts. No surprises on the invoice.
Hosting and support: £99/month. Hosting, backups, security updates, keeping it running, and bug fixes. Minimum 12 months, then cancel any time. You keep the code and your data either way.
Payment: 40% to start · 30% when you've seen it working · 30% on handover
What £99/month does not cover: new features, changes to how something works, importing more data later, or training after handover. Ask, and I'll give you a fixed price.

Isn't off-the-shelf cheaper?
In month one, yes. At 15 staff it costs more than devHatch by month 17 (see the chart above). Under 12 staff it stays cheaper for over two years, and I'll tell you if that's you.
What does "from £9,500" include?
Everything under "What's in the core system". Anything else gets a fixed price before I start, so you know the full cost first.
What if I need changes later?
I give you a fixed price and build them. No feature-request queue.
What happens if I stop paying the £99?
After the first 12 months you can stop any time. You keep the source code and your data, and you can host it yourself or move it to another developer.
Who actually builds it?
I do. You speak to the person writing the code, start to finish. No outsourcing, no account managers.
Where's my data?
In your own database, separate from every other firm's. Not a shared system with other businesses' records in it.
Who is it for?
Heating, plumbing and electrical firms in the UK. The certificates, CIS and VAT rules in it were built for that work.
What doesn't it do yet?
It doesn't send emails for you: you download the PDF and send it yourself. Jobs are booked by date, not by time slot. Quotes can't yet be marked as accepted or turned into invoices. I'm building these next. If one is a deal-breaker, tell me when we talk.
Tell me what makes you swear at your current software.
Send a message or a WhatsApp. I'll reply myself within one working day (UK time) with an honest answer, including "this isn't right for you". No pitch deck.
