This page explains what happens to the details you send me through this website. It covers devhatch.co.uk only. Last updated .

Who I am

devHatch is the trading name of Talay Yontem, a sole trader based in the UK. I'm responsible for the details you send me (the "data controller").

Email: hello@devhatch.co.uk

Post: 4th Floor, Silverstream House, 45 Fitzroy Street, Fitzrovia, London, W1T 6EB

I'm registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Registration reference: ZC280524.

What I collect

  • If you use the contact form: your name, email address and message.
  • If you email me: your email address and whatever you write.
  • If you message me on WhatsApp: your phone number, your WhatsApp name and your messages.
  • Like any website, the hosting service records basic technical details when you visit, such as your IP address and browser type.

This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking.

Why I use it

To reply to your message and, if you want to work with me, to talk through your needs and prepare a quote or agreement. I don't add you to a mailing list and I don't sell your details.

My lawful basis

  • If you're asking about working with me, I use your details to take steps you've asked for before we agree a contract.
  • Otherwise, I rely on legitimate interests: replying to messages people choose to send me, and keeping this website secure.

Who else handles your details

  • Web3Forms (run by Web3Creative) receives contact form messages and emails them to me. It deletes its copy after 7 days. To block spam, it passes your IP address and email address to its spam filters, CleanTalk and Akismet.
  • Hostinger provides my email inbox.
  • Vercel hosts this website and keeps technical server logs.
  • WhatsApp (Meta), if you message me there. WhatsApp's own privacy policy also applies.

Transfers outside the UK

Web3Forms operates from India and its providers process data in several countries, including the United States. Those transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum, set out in Web3Forms' data processing agreement. Vercel is a US company and processes data under its own data processing terms.

How long I keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to work: deleted after 12 months.
  • If you become a client: kept for as long as our agreement needs, then for as long as the law requires for business and tax records.
  • Web3Forms deletes its copy after 7 days.

Your rights

You can ask me to give you a copy of your details, correct them, delete them, or limit how I use them. Where it applies, you can also ask me to send them to you in a format you can reuse. Email hello@devhatch.co.uk. It's free, and I'll reply within one month.

Your right to object

You can object at any time to me using your details on the basis of legitimate interests. Email hello@devhatch.co.uk and I'll stop unless I have a strong legal reason not to.

Do you have to give me your details?

No. But without a way to contact you, I can't reply.

Automated decisions

I don't make any decisions about you by automated means.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your details, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk, helpline 0303 123 1113.

If you're a client

This page covers the website. How I handle your customers' data inside the job system is set out in our agreement.
